Lightning Talks
During my time at AutoSync, our design team was part of the larger AutoScout24 team, numbering close to 40 designers, researchers, and content writers. At a recent design team retro, one of the most voted topics was to foster more collaboration among such a large team. How could we nurture the myriad ideas, side-projects, and techniques that our team was busy developing in their own little corners? How could we bring these to light and build a culture of sharing, inspiration, and energy?
The idea for Lightning Talks was born!
I quickly built a mini pitch deck for the UX Leadership team, to get buy in and start our new lightning talk series.
At their core, the talks are about:
⏱ 8 minute talks, 2 minute Q&A, bi-weekly or monthly during our UX All-Hands
🎙 Anyone on the design team can share—something you're exploring, a recent win (or fail), tools you love, trends you’re curious about, etc.
🧠 Low-lift, optional slides, just you sharing something valuable or thought-provoking
🙌 A fun way to connect and learn from one another
I asked various team members to volunteer, and quickly found two eager designers that wanted to share their experiences and learnings from Figma Make.
Magda showcasing how to write a prompt, dictate to ChatGPT, then transfer the prompt to Figma Make and create a prototype.
Matt showing how Figma Make can construct usable code from Figma artboards.
